NOS's Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS) recently hosted an Oceanography Merit Badge class for the Boy Scouts of America. Scouts participated in a variety of oceanography lessons, interactive exhibits and demonstrations at CO-OPS' satellite office in Chesapeake, Virginia. Fifty Boy Scouts from across Virginia, ranging from ages ten to 16, participated in the program to qualify for their badge.
